hello
I was in Memphis, TN this week visiting with family. I got to hang out with 11 month old Felix who is an amazing little guy. He was diagnosed with Leukemia last October and is being treated at St. Judes Hospital. He is getting stronger everyday, but still has a battle to fight. I can't even begin to know the despair his mother is feeling... just happy I could be with them for a few short days.
I hope you're having a good week.

I marked this quilt for machine quilting with a yellow water soluble pencil. I really should have tested it before I did the whole thing.... little yellow marks remain even after I washed it. Good thing there is plenty of yellow in this quilt. Lesson learned. I need to find another product to mark my quilts. Let me know if you have any suggestions?
Suggestion for marking quilt top...I LOVE the pens "Frixion" they are pens that are "eraseable on paper", but when used on fabric the marks can be removed with heat from an iron. I have used them on colored/print fabric and also solids and WHITE fabric with it totally disappearing! I usually mark and then iron away same day. I have not done a test where it is left on for days and then try to remove with iron (though probably should test it that way too). I have found them to be invaluable, especially with machine embroidery where placement is essential. I personally have used the red, blue and black colors (there is a plethera of colors available) but they come right out with no delay, one swipe of the iron and it is GONE.

April, Thank you SO much for taking the time to give me this information ~ I appreciate it and will definitely be giving the Frixion pens a whirl on the next project.

I use Crayola washable marker. I've never had any problems with it washing out. My mom had a problem with one color, orange I think, but it went away after a soak in Oxyclean.

Seriously ~ wow! I have plenty of Crayola washable markers sitting right in front of me. I will give it a test run. Thanks so much for the tip.
