I really cannot believe that I am talking about the May/June Class Schedule...? This would mean that we are nearly half way through 2011 - what?! Didn't I just take down the Christmas decorations? Don't worry - I really did take everything down in January and am quite grateful my neighbors did the same. Anyway, the class schedule is filled with good stuff ~ check it out:
Karen Gray Design May/June Class Schedule
In Full Bloom Wall Hanging
Create floral wall hanging to display during summer time. In this 4 week class you will hand appliqué and piece a quilt top. Basic machine sewing and hand appliqué skills recommended. There will be homework each week.
4 Sessions – Wednesday - June 8, 15, 22 & 29 - 1:00-3:00 pm

Beginning Quilting
Learn to make your very first quilt top from Karen’s new pattern featured in May’s issue of Quilt Sampler Magazine! In this 4 week class you will learn the basic skills required to make a quilt top with a sewing machine; rotary cutting, lining up seams, and matching points. Basic machine sewing skills recommended. This is a demonstration class and there will be homework for this class.

All About Bindings
This class is all about quilt binding. Learn tips and techniques for making, applying and sewing down continuous binding. After this class you will achieve quilt-edge perfection every time.

Sewing 101 - Beginning Sewing Series

Lucky # 11 Clutch
Lucky No. 11 is fabulous clutch that is fun to make. The ruffle adds a flair of whimsy, while the overall design maintains a sophisticated vibe. This clutch is perfect to go with that cute summer dress. They would also make wonderful bridesmaids gifts. Basic machine sewing and rotary cuttings skills are required to take this class.

Churn Dash Quilt Top
Add to your quilting knowledge by taking this “advanced beginner” skill builders class and make a beautiful Churn Dash Quilt top while doing it. You will learn how to make 1⁄2 square triangles, quilt settings and mitered borders in this three session class. This is the perfect class for those that have completed Beginning Quilting.

Fusing Fun!

Design Your Own Class
Is there a class you would like to take, but you don’t see it on the schedule or it is not at a time that works for you? No problem, we offer group/private/semi-private classes designed by you. Just pick your project, pick the time and pick the day. We will take care of the rest. Contact the store for details.
Open Sewing
$10 per hour
You are welcome to use the Bernina sewing machines, irons, and all the tools we have available, for your projects. We offer a clean, bright, quiet space to get creative. You should be familiar with sewing basics for this independent project time. Call the shop to schedule some time to get busy.
