scrappin' away

this week i'm sewing scraps and making this and that - tissue packs, coaster quilts, eyeglass cases, doll quilts, little enclosure cards..... i'm having fun, but my studio is starting to look a little tornado like. so basically, i sew random scrap pieces together and machine quilt them for some unique yardage - then i cut and sew, usually without a real plan. i've had a high success rate with not thinking too hard about it - it works. oh, and i managed to whip up a few midwest modern skirts for my niece Ashley for her 7th birthday.

today i'm working on sachets for the shop. the scent of french lavender is so calming. what a perfect day!

Meet Nellie

Nellie is new to the studio and is beginning to learn the ropes around here - try on this, try on that. She's pretty cooperative and doesn't take a lunch break - probably how she stays so thin. Anyway, I thought an introduction was in order.

myrtle bags

I am not going to be too obsessed with trying to figure out this whole blog thing.....baby steps. I do wish I had a creative assistant who could just make it happen. In time I will get it worked out. I have so much I want to accomplish in the new year. I haven't actually made a list. That would be too scary. I am opting to just do and not review... and IF it seems obvious that I am accomplishing zippo, I'll try the list thing.
I am working on getting my website back on track. It's been awhile. Lately I have been filling custom orders and that has left me with no time to stock the shop. New stuff coming very soon. I must sew now.
