MFGT for April was super fun! I am attributing some of the fun factor to the weather shaping up a little. Spring has not treated us the way we are accustom and when things do not go the way we want (hope), crankiness can occur. Enough about the boring weather.... I have a lot of photos from Group Therapy to share, thanks again to Amy Shively, our resident iphone photographer. We kicked off the meeting with a sewing caddy swap, which also work perfectly for an Easter basket as well. Aren't they cute? I am thinking about whipping up a few extra small ones for Easter baskets.... I better get on it since we are less that 24 hours away.
Lee brought her March Swap since she had to miss the meeting - very cute sewing machine cover she made for Janet with pieced hexagons ~ very cool! After the Swap, we all got to know our Spotlight member
Suzy Lorentz a little bit better. Suzy brought her first quilt she started over 20 years ago and with the help of her sister, finally finished it last year. This quilt is hand quilted, so you can see why this took a long time to complete. Suzy shared a couple of quilts she has in progress and also brought a few practical Giveaways for the group and a super cool ironning board TV table she made for me. Thanks Suzy, I love it!! Show & Tell was very inspiraing, as always. I always leave the meeting so amped up and ready to make stuff thanks to all the talent in this group; Carrie shares a lovely applique quilt she made and Laura Davies quilted - wow!
Joan shares 2 fabulous quilts with the gang here is the back of the quilt Jenny shares her pretty Spring linen dress, trash can cover, and quilt Lee shares a few pretty quilt tops she just finished, as well as some exciting top secret news with the group. Watch her blog for the announcement of her news... Bravo Lee! Tamoe shares her completed Log cabin quilt the group is working on every month ~ the estimated time of completion for this project is November. I always loved this Heather Bailey collection - Nicey Jane. I also completed the log cabin quilt and have sent it on to Minnesota for my dear niece Abby who is turning 17 on April 21st. It seems like yesterday she was a tiny baby in my arms. Time does indeed fly by. I can't wait for her to open this gift ~ I feel pretty certain that she will love it. back of log cabin quilt for Abby. This was quilted by my friend Sheri Collette, who also happens to be the Spotlight for May. Can't wait. The Swap for May is a NeedleBook. I searched Pinterest to get some inspiration and came across this totally precious tutorial that I used as my inspiration. This was so much fun to make and I even enjoyed my hand at a few imperfect hand stitches. You will want to make one.
Well I better start sewing some Easter baskets now. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have enoyed all the fun pics from the April Modern Fabric Group Therapy meeting. I am wishing you all a very Happy Easter!
