Summer Vacation & Heirloom Giveaway

Hello,

Hope you are enjoying your Summer. The weather has been unbelievably hot.. kinda perfect for tackling some unfinished sewing.  So far I have managed to make a list of sewing projects I would love to check off my list before the school year gets underway next month.... in 26 days.  Who's counting?   I am going to take a short vacation to visit family & friends in Minnesota next week and will be closing the shop for 3 days - August 4, 5, & 6.  I will be back in the shop on Tuesday, August 9.

Youth/Teen Summer Sewing & Design Camp

Hi there,

Just wanted to let you know about the extremely fun Youth/Teen Sewing Camps we have on the calendar in July & August.  We had a fantastic turn out in June and the girls were amazingly productive.  Everyday camp starts with learning a new sewing skill, followed by making a project using the new learned skill.  I really wish I had some photos of all the mad sewing the girls did during camp, but my camera was not functioning.  By the end of the week they had made 5 - 6 different projects.  The girls did promise to stop by soon will all their handmade goodness, so I can take a photo... hopefully soon.  Here are the details for the July/August Camps ~

 

Youth Summer Sewing Camp

This camp is for the beginner.  Each class will be spent learning new sewing skills and completing one project.  The goal is to leave camp with enough skill to sew independently.  All materials and tools will be provided.  A notebook with handouts, sample sheets and project patterns are also included. 

July 11-15, 1:00-4:00pm, Ages 9-17

Instructor:  Cathy Zakula  $275

 

Youth Design Camp

 This camp requires Beginning Sewing Camp or previous sewing experince.  The focus is on making garments using a commercial pattern, fitting them to the student, and then redesigning the pattern for an original look.  All materials and tools will be provided.  A textbook is also included.

August 8-12, 9:00 - 12:00, ages 9-12 and 1:00 - 4:00, ages 13-17
