Hi there,
Hope you all had a great weekend. The Saturday AB-Beads necklace class was a BIG success. I know everyone had a great time. Sue was a great instructor who not only showed everyone the secrets to making extra fun necklaces, but came to class with homemade pumpkin spice cookies for her students. Cookies are usually enough to inspire me. Thank you Sue.
I am pretty excited about Denyse Schmidt's new Collection "Hope Valley". The design simplicity and colors she used are so reminiscent of my grandmother's house in Wisconsin ~ LOVE! I am expecting these lovely fabrics next month sometime - stay tuned.
On that note, I have this wonderful box of fat quarters from Denyse's Katie Jump Rope collection that I would love to giveaway this week. Leave me a comment about a fun & easy gift to make and I will randomly select a winner on Saturday, October 17th.
Oh~ I have a few spaces remaining in the classes this week. So if you're interested in having a great time and learning some new sewing skills, you should definitely sign up: Beginning Quilting, Amy Butler's Gum Drop Pillow, Pajama bottoms & pillowcase + another great AB-Beads necklace class are what's on the schedule
Have a great week.
Karen

I like making simple market totes, and Denyse Schmidt's website has a new free pattern that is great.
Love her new line, but still love the old ones too.

I'm doing a combo of toss pillow slip-covers and personalized tea towels. I'm desperately in love with DS's KJR. I hope it never gets discontinued. These would for sure, 100% go to patch pillow slip covers for the office couch.

I am new to your blog today. I found you through ParkCity's Quilt Festival. Your totes and sachets are darling. What a nice surprise to find you're doing a giveaway too. I have seen this fabric online before. It seems to be really popular.

If I need a quick gift, I like to run up a set of cloth napkins from fat quarters. Super easy!

I once gave personalized pillow cases to all of the attendees at my party. It's so quick to zip together, and you just have to pick a fabric to match that person's personality.

I love reversible patchwork drawstring bags as a quick gift - Pink Penguin has a great tutorial. Or patchwork strips on tea towels. Thanks for the great giveaway!

I find a quick table topper or table runner always goes over well especially when it goes with their decor or matches a new season.

I have recently needed to give some gifts to a range of ages...I've come up with a great solution!
Bookmarks!!!
I have made dozens and either given them in a book to the recipient or with a gift card to Chapters or Barnes and Noble!

Love the new fabric line. As for gifts those fq's could be stretched into loads of journal covers for Christmas gifts.

Love that line of fabric! Can't wait for Hope Valley too! I would make patchwork lavender satchets. I made them mast Christmas and everyone loved them! I just sewed up a little nine-patch then sewed it into a bean bag and filled it with lavender. I added a button to the center, too cute!

Oh, I adore Katie Jump Rope! This year, one of my major projects doesn't involve sewing, but it does involve fabric. I have a 10 month old, so there's plenty of baby food jars around our house. I'm saving them and cutting strips of fabric with pinking shears. I'll cover the jars & fill it with homeade brown-sugar hand scrub. When the scrub is gone, the remaining jar makes a beautiful tea light holder -- it shines through the fabric so prettily.
Thanks for the chance to enter!

One of my favorite quick gifts to make is a kitchen hand towel. You need some waffle weave fabric ( I purchased mine at JoAnn fabrics) and fabric for binding. Cut the waffle weave the size you want, and bind with fabric. Easy and cute!! Looks great with any of the Denyse Schmidt fabrics!

I work in an office where we have to go to a coffee shop in the building for coffee. I made coffee cup cozies for my coworkers and they really help, no more burned fingers! This is an easy and quick gift.
