Sewing 101
Beginning Sewing Series - Begin your sewing journey here! This class is for the true beginning sewer with absolutely no experience.
Meets
for 3 weeks - 2 hours each session
Mondays
- September 14, 21, 28 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Fun
Fusing
Learn
the tips and tricks of fusible web applique as you create a fun art quilt.
Choose one of two patterns...plus you'll learn ideas for creating
your own designs. Sewing machine with zigzag stitch required for week 2 only

Beginning
Quilting
Make your very first quilt top! In the first class we will
select our fabrics, and then go on to learn to use a rotary cutter & ruler.
You will make a make a fabulous Disappearing Nine Patch Quilt top.
In the final class we will baste the quilt and talk about quilting
options. You should be familiar with sewing basics to participate in this
class. There will be homework for this class.
Wednesdays - 4 sessions - September 9, 16, 23, & 30

Fabulous Pillows
Pillows are the perfect accent for any room and do make a lovely
gift. You will make one pillow in this class and learn different closure
techniques. You should be familiar with sewing basics to take this class.

Britches & Bloomers
Make adorable easy-to-stitch pants for little boys & girls - sizes newborn to 4T. You will construct one pair of pants in class. You should be familiar with sewing basics to take this class.

Learn
how to make a gorgeous fabric bowl. it may look difficult, but

Take
the mystery out of installing zipper closures and take home a one of a kind
coin purse or small cosmetic bag. You will learn lapped, centered, and

Beginner Hand Applique
Let’s bring back the art of hand appliqué to quilting.
Beginners come to this class and learn many techniques of hand appliqué. Learn
how to get perfect circles and pointy tips on your leaves. Learn about the
different tools used in applique and how to make the invisible stitch.

Swing Bag
You
will really be making the scene with this cool bag made with Amy Butler's Swing
Bag pattern. To take this class, you should
know your way around a sewing machine and have completed at least one other
small project. Please come to the shop to pick out your fabric a few days prior
to the class, so that you can launder it before the first class. You will be
making a reversible bag with a bow sash accent. The sash doubles as
a belt or headscarf. Wow!

Skirts
Make
your own original handmade skirt using Amy Butler's Barcelona Skirts pattern!
To take this class, you should know

If you're like me, you don't like to be without your machine for
very long. Learn how to completely tune-up and clean your machine
yourself. You will feel so empowered, not to mention you will save a
bundle in service fees.

You
will learn the skills to make perfect mitered corners every time. Basic sewing
skills are required to take this class. You will be making a set of 4
napkins - fabulous & functional.

definitely be the envy of all your friends when they take notice of your sewing

You will learn how to make a pleat and pockets, as well as install a
magnetic snap. Please select your fabrics and cut out your pattern pieces
prior to class.

Oh I wish I lived nearby!!! I would love to come to some classes. You've done a lot of work getting your schedule together. I'm sure it is going to be a blast!!!
